Third Annual European Energy and Transport Conference will take place in Luxembourg on 4-5 May 2004
Following on from two very informative events in 2001 and 2002, the Directorate-General for Energy and Transport of the European Commission, will hold its third conference in Luxembourg, in the Hemicycle of the European Parliament and in the European Commission’s Jean Monnet Conference Centre, on 4-5 May 2004.
The focus this year will be put on users, passengers and consumers. One of the key
priorities of the Commission for the future will indeed be to put at last the citizen at the
heart of our policies in energy and transport.
The Commission wants the conference to be an open discussion between customers,
passengers, consumers, citizens and industry as well as other main players in energy and
transport so that it can be used as an input to future decision making. A number of key
initiatives have indeed been taken in recent years with a view to developing passenger
rights as well as electricity and gas consumer rights.
